SEEBOOP VS ALFREDCAMERA
AlfredCamera and SeeBoop start from the same idea: the phone in your drawer is a perfectly good camera. Alfred built a home security app on it. SeeBoop built a pet camera on it, with bark, meow and crash detection that runs on the device, talk-back through a real speaker, and a price that stays put.
CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE
Alfred has been turning old phones into cameras for a decade, and it shows.
HOME SECURITY
Person detection, motion zones, a siren, and cloud event clips you can review after a break-in. If the question is "who was in my hallway at 3 a.m.", Alfred answers it well.
TEN YEARS OF POLISH
Alfred runs on Android, iOS, the web and Windows, and millions of people have set it up. Edge cases are rare and the help center is deep.
FREE TIER
Alfred's free plan lets you run two cameras with live view and motion detection. Recording, longer history and more cameras are on the paid plans.
THE REAL COST
On 16 March 2026 Alfred Premium Standard went from $29.99 to $35.99 a year in the US, with other regions following on 7 April. Existing subscribers kept their old price. SeeBoop Premium is $14.99 a year, and existing subscribers keep that price for as long as they stay subscribed.

THE HONEST PART
If you want a siren, person detection at the front door, and a cloud archive of every motion event, that is what Alfred is for and it does it well. If you want to know whether the dog is barking, whether the cat knocked something off the shelf, and to say "it's okay" through a speaker they recognise, that is what SeeBoop is for. Plenty of homes run both: Alfred on the hallway, SeeBoop on the crate.
THE POINT
Prop up the spare phone, scan a code from the phone in your pocket, and watch live as long as you like, free. When the model is not sure what it heard, it says "Sound detected" instead of guessing. And the price you pay is the price you keep.
